Dear Sir
I send you this day by mail, through Mr. Kindsley a check for seven hundred dollars, the result of my labor so far. you will please let Mrs. Harris (my Wife) have fifty dollars. I will make it all right when I get home. I leave here to day to go fifty miles [[strikethrough]] in [[/strikethrough]] to speake at a ratification meeting for Grant and Colfax. I will [[strikethrough]] start [[/strikethrough]] be home home soon in haste
