[[/preprinted]] Lieut Col Jacob F Chur Asst Com &c Raleigh NC Colonel. I would respectfully recommend that the Freedmens School of Chapel Hill be aided to the extent of $50 to be expended in purchasing proper benches for the School Room. I have consulted with the official of the Friends [[Farm? Transcription Notes:
In the 1860's, there was a Friends Freedmens Association in Philadelphia which had a farm. Unsure of transcription of "Friends [[?]] Ass'n."
