I got a cable this morning giving Bunny control of the D's up to July. Now Bunny wants it until the end of the year. So he haggled and chewed over it and finally said he must have it until October. I tried to explain and talk him out of it, but he wouldn't have it. So all I could do was to say I'd cable back and let him know tomorrow.

I guess I'll let him know, omitting the cabling.

On the stroke of ten I waltzed into Bait Benines and told him I'd got a cable (may god forgive me) saying July or nothing. Bunny hemmed and Bunny hawed, but Bunny caved, like all good Bunnies should.

I ought to get my confirmation of the whole business tomorrow morning, - say Friday, today being a holiday in NY. Then I am left to squat on my little office chair until something else turns up. Ah, well. I hope this really goes through.
