I'll never forgive Stritt banging those last two into the net this afternoon. They had us five love, and then we braced and won six straight. Then we dropped two, and with two points to get Stritt drove 'em both to the ropes. It was a heartbreaker.

Mail came in three hours and a half ahead of time today. That's something like. We don't know as we care for the same sort of promptness Wednesday, though.

Spent most of the afternoon at Bunny's. Selim started to get down to the fine point on his letters about cottons. If he starts any of that I guess I can hand him a few on my own account. He gave me a bid on his ivory, but I don't think it will go through.

I got out some of Uncle Dwight's old letters yesterday and pored them over. I think he was rather more prolix than I am. He didn't seem to have much to do with Bunny, from his letter book. That's where he struck it lucky.
