Aden is closed up today. Seems that they make a hell of a time over Good Friday in England. Over where we come from everything is going on at the same old stand same as usual. They have more holidays in England than they know what to do with. The Bank here is closed until Tuesday. Bunny has been shut up for two days already and won't be approachable for six or eight more, but Easter doesn't happen to be the because. The Chosen People are off on a toot of their own.

The Aden Alpine Ass'n got restless tonight, so we trod up Shum Shum by Luna's pale light, and after an hour's rest and a hogshead of tea at the top we trod down again.

There were five of us, - Naish, Smith, Pennant, MacDonald and faithfully yours. We had about as many boys to carry our coats and the wittles, so quite an army stormed the heights, which we carried in about an hour and a half from Smith's headquarters.

It was bloody cold up top. Those spare flags up there came in mighty handy, to fold around our shivering shapes.

Back at two.
