Got a wire from New York yesterday morning, "Smith expected to arrive about end of June". Now that means some kind of a shift for yours most lovingly, but just what damfino. 

The thoughts of going down the coast in the monsoon, are not particularly pleasant.

Went over to Belle's this afternoon in the hope of seeing her and finding some chocolate-cake, but alas, she had went over to Mrs What'sername, who's going to have the family next month. But anyway, the guv'nor and I had the chocolate cake and a dash of the english national beverage, and then we druv down to Point. We sat out on the Club terrace and Paul E. recited tales of Dwight and Cheney and the old days.
