Saturday, February 11, 1911

The usual loaf. I improved the shining hours by pasting up my [[fotograf?]] and scrapbooks, and in the afternoon going over to the yacht club at Kilindini to watch the race. That sturdy Teuton, Lemm, won.

Dined with Robenson at the Grand. afterwards  we went up to the [[????]] mess, which was rather quiet. To the metropole to find several festive Germans, notably [[??]], emerging. On seeing us they went back indoors-the night was still young-whereat I made a break, and deaf to Barney's ertheaties, continued home to bed.

Sunday, February 12, 1911

Up to six, as yesterday. Back to Mombasa. Fillips stayed to pot-luck, and we had a game of bridge afterwards. Wound up with hearts, and an argument our local exchange. Fillips is crazy with the heat, bring of course on the opposition. 'Tis sad to see the effects of the drink, in one so young.
