Getting pretty nigh, now. Tomorrow, Inshallah. I beat it for home! Seems impossible to realize. I've been a great deal more excited over other people going home, than I am over myself. It's not because I don't want to go, mind you, it must be that the full realization hasn't struck me yet.

Quite a clear night, for I picked out Cancer quite easily, and saw the "coalsack" near Crux.- both for the first time, and both were quite evident.

Well now for a good fat sleep before the journey of the morrow.

Away for home at last! This afternoon we pulled out of Kilindini, homeward bound around the Cape, and mighty glad I was to get away, too. Betcher life.

The "Dunvegan Castle" which I am honoring with my highly-important presence, is a medium-sized packet of about 6000 tons. She appears, at first glance, fairly comfortable, but according to those who came out from home in her, she rolls her boats under in bad weather. We had good weather out of Kilindini, and I hope to goodness it continues so! I've no desire to see her perform.

My cable went off this morning! Edie's pleased, I know.
