5th (continued)

covered with snow,- something unusual, they say. I'd ruther see something more usual, and have it a little warmer.

6th.

Brite and clear as we left Queenstown, but more snowstorm as soon as we got outside. Cold enough to freeze the hair off a dog, too, and I didn't like it. I'll be damned glad to be somewhere where I can be good and [[underline]] warm [[/underline]] once more, so I shall.

Off for them U.S.A at last. Barrin' accidents, we don't stop now until we get to New York, and this old schooner can't get there any too soon to suit me.

On board R.M.S "Adriatic"
[[/preprinted]]

Now today was a fine one. Hardly a ripple and we're ploughing along fine. The "Adriatic" is one huge big ship. 726 feet long, and about 25,000 tons. Elevator, gymnasium, swimming pool, enclosed promenades, and most everything on board. The passengers have five decks to wander around on. Some different from the old "Majestic," which I crossed on before.

We're full of Americans, and have some very pretty girls on board. And honest, I've not spoken to but one, who's married and sits at our table. I thought I should double up the first few times I heard them
