We have sent you during the week, two or three cables, with the object of getting from you, a price at which Messa will sell his ivory, but so far without any success. He presumably has been waiting the result of the London sales, but he can get very little satisfaction out of them, for the prices there were barely sustained as against last sale.

We must have bids from you on the 500 bales of shirtings and drills that you have on hand- get us bids and we have no fault, as there must be buyers at some prices, in your market.
