We also confirm our instructions to you to ship all your ivory, Messa's or anybody else, under Banker's Letter of Credit, drawing for the full amount. Through this means, you will be furnished sufficient cash to pay Messa for his ivory.

We notice that you say you have had offers for small lots of Shanghai goods, at £152. to 154. These are not very tempting prices, but would be better that you put such bids before us by cable and permit us to decline or accept - mail is too slow for business in these days. You also say that Liverato is holding narrow goods at £114 to 115. We should be very glad to receive bids for ours, and while we have named higher prices, that is no bar to your putting in any bid to us.

We would caution you against getting your views of Cotton goods too low, and depending on Seyed Yaseen for information- Seyed Yaseen is in the employ of Messa, and the stories he tells you are not entirely to be relied upon - he may be instructed to tell you certain figures. You must use Seyed Yaseen, not let him use you.

Yours truly,
