First study for "La Parade" (in the Stephen C. Clark collection, New York).

Conté crayon drawing: 12" x 9"

It represents the barker and the horse that Seuret intended having in his final painting, but which he suppressed in the course of his successive sketches. At the bottom, the heads of the spectators and on the left, another figure of the final composition.
