Dear Mr[[strikethrough]]s[[/strikethrough]]. Sachs:

In answer to your letter of October 15, in which you request me to give you my estimate of the present market value of the large triptych of Limoges enamel, by Martin Didier, of the 16th century, which you purchased from this firm a great many years ago, may I say that in my opinion it has not today the same value as in the years when you purchased it.

My opinion is that it should be worth now between $5,500.- and $6,000.

Enamels, like so many medieval works of art have gone down in prices considerably over the last fifteen years, and if earlier enamels of the 12th and 13th centuries have of late risen anew from their low, on the other hand, painted enamels of the type of your large triptych have not yet experiences^[[d over the typed s]] a similar increase.

Trusting the above information may be of assistance to you,

Yours very truly,

(Germain Seligman)
