March 27th, 1956

Dear Mr. Baderou:
Yesterday, upon receipt of your interesting letter of March 24th, I immediately abided by your suggestion and cabled you as follows:

MERCI LETTRE VINGTQUATRE STOP. PRIEZ URGENCE VOTRE INTERMEDIARE ADVISOR CAILLEUX SON CLIENT SE DESINTERESSE TABLEAU STOP JE CONTACTERAI DIRECTEMENT CAILLEUX.SALUTATIONS. SALIGMAN

Subsequently, I also cabled Cailleux and am now awaiting his answer. He is of course entitled to a profit and even a large one if he so wishes, and I would certainly not begrudge him this but obviously there are limits to the price I can pay for this painting.
With renewed thanks for your kind efforts in my behalf and with [[ strikethrough]] ?[[/strikethrough]] greetings,

Sincerely yours,
Germain Seligman
