Dear Mr. Fleischman:

Let me first tell you that I was assured yesterday afternoon by my packer that the charming portrait bust of Montesquieu by Rosset would be leaving before the end of the day and shipped to you by air. I therefore hope that it will already have reached you by the time you receive these lines. It is insured by my firm until delivery. Your acknowledgement of its safe arrival would therefore oblige me much. A detailed invoice with all pertaining data will be mailed within the next couple of days.

Under separate cover, I am forwarding to you today, as per your request, the pamphlet covering the fifteen pieces of Italian Majolica, Hispano-Moorish, Rhodian and Damascan Faiences, of which you saw but a few examples. Opposite every single item you will find all the necessary indications as to their nature as well as to their conditions.

As you will recall, the price of the fifteen pieces is $36,950.- (Thirty-six-thousand nine hundred and fifty dollars). This group I wish to sell as a collection. The only item that I would be willing to remove from it is the large Hispano-Moorish plate with Hebrew inscriptions which is priced at $12,000.- (Twelve thousand dollars), and similarly I would also sell this separately at this same price. In other words, the fourteen remaining pieces would come to $24,950.- (Twenty-four thousand nine hundred and fifty dollars). As regards this large Hispano-Moorish plate with Hebrew inscriptions I should add that to my knowledge it is a unique example (may I also call your attention to its most unusual size - its diameter is 22-7/16"). It was included in one of the most important exhibitions of Moslem art at the beginning of the Century, when it was the property of a well-known European collector, Mr. Josseau. Special old photostatic copes of this catalogue you will find included in the pamphlet. As already mentioned, the plate was once broken and restored.

Before closing, let me tell you again that it was a pleasure indeed to have had your visit, as I realized how much you enjoyed looking at the works of Art it was my privilege to show you.

Looking forward to hearing further from you -

Yours very sincerely,

Germain Seligman
