Dear Mrs. Gomes:

The painting by Cezanne has at last reached me and I wish to tell you without delay how very pleased I am to have it.

I expected also to hear from you in answer to my letter of October 30th and you will allow me to express my disappointment.

I was hoping particularly in view of the conversations we had in Paris, that you would have been interested in a closer cooperation with me and would have had the desire of sending me further details.

After my several visits to you this summer I was much impressed with your business abilities and particularly by your driving activity, a quality which is missing with so many Paris art dealers and I was thus looking forward to further constructive cooperation.

I feel it would be unfortunate if our first deal would affect our business relationship from the very beginning.

Your very sincerely,

(Germain Seligman)
