Dear Mr. Macomber:

It has been very many years, I regret to say, since I have had the pleasure of seeing you. Off and on I do hear of you in connection with artistic manifestations, showing me that you are enjoying good health and still interested in beautiful things, as you have always been.

I am giving these lines of introduction to Mr. Robert M. Levy, who joined the firm a few months ago after completing his studies at Yale and Harvard. I am most anxious for Mr. Levy to meet you, as I know how much he can learn from you and what a sure guide you could be to him through the section of the museum which you have taken such a leading part in organizing.

I think that you too will enjoy meeting him.

Mr. Levy is going to Bostin in connection with a very small but choice exhibition of modern water-colors and drawings which we are arranging in your city but his taste and inclination also go along your lines - that is, the earlier period of art.
