Dear Mr. Macomber:

I hope my New Years card found you in good health and best of spirits, if not in Boston, probably in Palm Beach, where I presume these lines will promptly reach you.

I would ask you for some information if it is possibly for you to give it to me, and if it does not in any way inconvenience you.

I have to keep gathering together various data to follow up the whereabouts of notable works of art, not only for reference, but especially for arranging or contributing to representative exhibitions which are becoming more and more frequent in this country, especially at the Museums. These are, as you well have perceived, more and more numerous and their splendid activities include the holding of Loan Exhibitions for which they wish to collect as large a number of important works of art as possible.

Would it be possible for you to let me have a list as far as you can remember, of prominent collectors of works of art in Boston and neighboring towns and of the principal works of art, especially paintings, they have acquired as far back as the beginning of this
