Dear Mr. Winthrop:

I do want to follow out my firm’s tradition of showing you each exceptional painting as soon as we receive it, and therefore I am sending you these lines to ask whether you would care to drop in and see some paintings which we have just acquired. Even though you may not be in a purchasing mood, I know that you will greatly enjoy seeing them!

As I would like to have the privilege of receiving you myself, I would appreciate it if you could let me know approximately when you intend coming in.

With personal regards,

Yours very sincerely,

(Germain Séligmann)
