December 31st, 1935.

Dear Mr. McGregor,

Supplementing the letter I wrote you yesterday about Roger Van der Weyden and which is herewith enclosed, I thought also of adding this photograph of an extremely fine portrait by Madame Vigée LeBrun.

It is recorded in the books and in the Memoires, and it represents the "Countess of Schönfeld", wife of the Ambassador of Saxony, and was painted by Mme. LeBrun in Vienna. The picture is signed and dated and is very beautiful in color.

The picture belongs also to a client who has just considerably reduced his asking price. We were asking $75,000. for this picture last year, and this year we can sell it for $45,000.

We also have - but a photograph could not show anything of them - four magnificent panels, of gold and silk embroidery on red velvet, early 16th century work, which are very unique. My uncle, the late Jacques Seligmann, purchased them at least 15 years ago and they were sold to a client, who has given them to us for sale. I am very sure that Mr. Hearst would like them, and I am wondering if you would not stop by sometime in the near future to look at them.

With my kindest regards,
Believe me
Yours sincerely,

(René Seligmann)
