RHW ES February 5, 1929

David Finley Esq.,
Treasury Department,
Washington, D.C.

My dear Finley,
Only today, I received the two books about Sir Thomas LAWRENCE in which the Metternich portrait is mentioned and reproduced. I had quite some trouble in obtaining a copy of the Algernon Graves book which caused the delay in sending them. With the same mail, I am sending these books to Secretary Mellon for his information as to the record of the painting.

As to you personally, you would do me an enormous favor if you could be able to make an appointment for me with the Secretary the latter part of next week, let's say, between February 14th and the 21st. I could come to Washington at any time between these dates to discuss matters.

Trusting this will find you in the best of health and hoping you are no longer over-whelmed with work, I remain, with my best wishes and kindest regards,

Yours very sincerely,
(Rolf H. Waegen)
