Earl of Upper Ossory.  It was bequeathed to or inherited by Robert Vernon Vernon, first Baron Lyveden, who married Emma Mary, daughter of John, Early of Upper Ossory, and eventually passed into the possession of Lord Lyveden's fourth son, the Hon. Greville Richard Vernon, of whom it was purchased in 1898.
