The two wings are of a later period; the front look of curl was loose and re-attached. The left left leg was broken at the knee and at the ankle, and the right leg at the ankle. But all parts are original. However, the second base was added later to reinforce the broken base. The index finger of the right hand is restored.

Both Dr. L. Planiscig and Dr. W.E. Valentiner fully agree with the definite attribution to Giovanni
de Bologna.

Dr. L. Planiscig dates this marble Ca. 1580; the same date at which the famous "Charitas" bronze group was made for the University of Genoa.

This group, "Charitas", with three other statues was made by Giovanni da Bologna for the Grimaldi Chapel
in the Church of S. Francesco di
Castelletto in Genoa.

Dr. W.R. Valentiner dates this marble Ca. 1583; as closely related in style to the "Venus" by Giovanni da 
Bologna at the top of the Fontana di
