Cher Ami,

Upon my return to town I found your so very nice and helpful letter of June 15th for which I hasten to thank you.

It was good of you to write your cousin and ask him to send photographs. However, at this writing they have not yet reached me. This does not surprise me as he hardly had time to forward them.

I am leaving town now, the day after tomorrow, for my vacation in California, and shall communicate again with you when I return in September, and advise you then of either the success or the failure of your kind intervention.

By then, I assume you will be at the National Gallery in Washington, having the responsibility of the new department at the head of which you will be. Do accept my heartiest wishes of success in this new endeavour, for which you are particularly qualified.

With renewed thanks and kindest thoughts,

Yours,

Germain Seligman
