Studensky's experience includes the use of the Bleriot and Farman machines as well as the Curtiss-type. He took up aviation at the Bleriot school at Etampes, France, where he graduated and was granted Aero Club of France license No. 292, on November 8, 1910.

He was born in St. Petersburg, the capital of Russia, November 18, 188?. He was educated at the Imperial University there. At the Japanese-Russian war and in the interior war that followed in Russia, Studensky had his first thrilling experience, although he was still quite young.

Later on the young Russian went to study at the Paris University, and it was while there that he became interested in flying. He has traveled a great deal but has always remained a true Sclavonian, although speaking and writing English fluently.
