P61 [[newspaper clipping]] [[title]]PLAN INTERNATIONAL FLIGHT[[/title]] [[printed line]] [[subtitle]]Aerial Journey From Galveston to Winnipeg, Manitoba, Proposed by National Flyers.[[//subtitle]] [[printed line]] Special to The News. Oklahoma City, Ok., April 7. - It is the purpose of flyers for the Chicago-Galveston National Aeroplane Company to make an international flight from the Texas port to Winnipeg, Manitoba, following the proposed meridian interstate postal highway. Letters came to the good roads department from Galveston asking the department's co-operation in the flight through Oklahoma, which would be given but the letter contained no details of the venture. The interstate highway through Oklahoma follows the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railroad line and touches Ardmore, Oklahoma City, Guthrie and Perry. [[three symbols in a row]] Howard Linn, vice president of the National Aeroplane Company, when seen Sunday confirmed this report from Oklahoma, although he had little to add to it. The plan, he said, is as yet a tentative one, but the details have not been worked out. Letters have been sent to various points along the proposed route, and if sufficient support can be elicited the flight will be carried out. The recent test of the big Beech-National biplane which have been made at the Galveston camp, said Mr. Linn, have been convincing proof of the capacity for endurance of the monster craft, and there is little doubt that the machine can successfully make the trip. [[highlighted in red]] If the plans are consummated Aviator Paul Studensky will probably be the pilot chosen to guide the airship on her long transcontinental voyage. [[/highlighted in red]] The weather conditions again prevented the carrying out of the program Sunday at the aviation grounds, and the meet has been once more postponed until next Sunday. Experiments will be made during the present week in parachute dropping from aeroplanes in flight, special apparatus for which has been received from the Eastern factory.
