,Among the birds represented are those most often mentioned by the poets (as the Nightingale, Skylark, Haleyow, Song Thrush, etc.), the Condor, Lammergeyer, Eagles, Stork, Heron, Flamingo, Adjutant, Cassowary, Barnacle Goose, Spteryx, Lyre Bird, Bird of Paradise, Honey Guide, Crocodile Bird, etc., etc;  There is also shown a series of birds' eggs, from that of a Hummingbird up to that of the extinct Giant Ostrich ([[underlined]]AEpiornis[[/underlined]]) of Madagascar; a Wren's nest built inside a human skull; specimens illustrating protection mimicry, and other objects of a similar nature.  This case was suggested by Professor Leangley, whose ideas the curator has endeavored to carry out to the extent of his ability and the facilities afforded in the way of necessary specimens, form of case, etc.
