the Lindbergh Chair to $1.0 million, an amount deemed necessary to provide annual income for a scholar's salary and related costs, and no further transfers would be required.

[[underlined]] Approval of Funding for the Lindbergh Chair of Aerospace History [[/underlined]]

To accomplish the action referred to above, the following motion was passed:

VOTED that the Board of Regents authorizes the transfer of $650,000 from trust funds of the National Air and Space Museum into the Lindbergh Chair of Aerospace History Endowment Fund.

[[underlined]] FY 1981 - Budget (schedule D) [[/underlined]]

Schedule D outlines the overall operating budget of the Institution of FY 1981.  Further detail on any portion of this plan is readily available.  Gross income for the year, including appropriated and non-appropriated funds, is expected to total $226,340,000, compared to $203,978,000 projected for FY 1980; net income, after expenses of auxiliary and bureau activities, is projected at $153,143,000, or $139,979,000 in FY 1980.  The net operating income increase of $13.2 million will be from federal appropriations (+$11.1 million) and federal grants and contracts at SAO and CBCES (+$2.1 million), with trust funds remaining at a constant level.

--[[underlined]] Federal Appropriations [[/underlined]]:  The following table reflects the results of OMB and House actions on our original FY 1981 Congressional appropriations request.  For comparative purposeS, data for fiscal year 1980 has also been included:
