Piccasso Cat

THE CAT WHO HAD HIS NOSE OUT OF JOINT

Once upon a time there lived a horrible huge yellow alley cat, Piccasso by name, who had a very high opinion of himself.  And no wonder, because for six years he had made his home with a good natured old lady, and an irritable old man, who loved him very much, and never interfered with anything he wanted to do.

He was allowed to roam anywhere in the house he pleased, to curl up on the priceless old French chair, to claw the nand woven fabric of the rocker by the hearth.  It was inevitable therefor, that he thought of himself as King Pin of all cats.

The old lady had named the cat Picasso after a mad modern painter, whom she did not understand, but whom she liked to pretend she did.  In her secret mind she considered herself
