The actual number of specimens in the study series cannot be known until the more bulky portions of it, now stored in the West basement where the specimens are so crowded that it is impossible to count them, has been rearranged in more convenient cabinets. (Requisition for the necessary cabinets was made July 24th.)

The number of the last catalogue entry in the Museum register of birds in June, 1890, is 118369, and that i June, 1891, 120752.
