My dear Miss Fletcher,

I should have been very glad to send you after the Sioux chn. but knowledge that you could or would go comes - unfortunately for me, - too late. I started Miss Burgess on Monday and gave her Robt. American Horse, Luther Standing Bear, and Maggie Stands Looking as aids. Revd Robinson comes in with them. They go first to S. Bull who, through the War Dept. informs us he dont want to send his children east until he is given a reservation. If he declines, after seeing Miss B. and her party, we can only let him alone. Miss B. goes on to Rosebud and P. Ridge, and is authorized to make up any deficiency at I B.s from those Agencies. I have had to employ a teacher
