Dear Miss Fletcher,

I learn from the papers that Mr Tibbles is trying to make a stir in the world by making silly charges and sly insinuations right and left.  This is very unfortunate for the poor Omahas who are just now getting on high grounds where they could safely be trusted to stand alone -- If left with no hindrances the advanced ones have all they can possibly do to quiet their own ignorant and suspicious ones, but with a perturbed spirit like Tibbles agitating them public it is much worse.  As long as he stayed at home where he was known he could do no harm for he could command no following either in or out of the tribe.  But when he is so unlucky as to get away from home there is danger of harm - the people should not listen to him.  He represents no constituents, is not backed by any one except in the matter of getting privilege for the Omahas to lease their allotted lands.  If he will stick to that he will be harmless - The Omahas are prosperous and contented - they are getting more than twice as much income from their vacant land than they did before Mr Farley took it.
