to bring up the weak and backward ones to self support. There is no future for them except in self government. They must be encouraged to take other steps forward.

I do not know what special charges he is making, but if he claims that there was anything not right in allotting the lands or in any work you did there I am perfectly safe in saying that he can do you no harm with those who know anything of the facts. Any evidence necessary to protect you from harm in any way from him I will undertake to furnish at short notice. There is no protection against such people. He has an envious and jealous disposition which makes him unhappy and dangerous. Perhaps I am unnecessarily anxious for your welfare as I have heard of no special charges he makes against you. You worked hard and destroyed your health for years and perhaps for life to help those people and it warms me up to hear that such a man is possibly ready to say harsh things of you. Let me hear from you soon -
all well - Yours Truly
