Dear Miss Fletcher.

  I hear there is a great deal of talk done by the disappointed counselmen, Mr Fontenelle is brought into it but I can't believe he would join the talk. He has stood by us in everything I find it hard to believe he would mix in this senseless talk. I wrote to Mrs Kinney last night, yesterday she set me a draft for $35 for Minnie, this money is to get her a stove, bed-stead chairs, and maybe there will be a few dollars left to get a couple of wash tubs and wash-board.
