Sat. Morning March 20th 1886

Dear Friend,

I wish to say a few words to you this morning. Last night Ma-ha-eva-the brought me a little note from the young men which I will enclose to you.
It was all the poor man could do to get over here, the roads are in a bad condition the bottom is all under water and the bridge is not safe to cross just now. Tell the three men the rest of the counsel men have gone wild, because they didn't get to go to Washington too.

at the white people around us and do as they do but I can't make them go in the right way.

Your friend
Ma-ha-wa-the
