My dear Miss Fletcher:
I enclose another installment of the songs, ready for publication.  I now see my way through the woods.  There are only a few left that are pressing, and those I hope to get through tomorrow.  Then I shall be ready to prepare my Country article.
I haven't yet heard from Prof. Putnam.  I hope there is no hitch about getting the first article back.  I am sure I can write a better one, and a more popular and effective one.
I trust the change of air and scene have benefitted you and that the journey was some rest to you. I don't like to see you overworking so.  You can't keep up that pace - As for me, I am not nearly so tired as I was a week ago.  I have relapsed into my customary habits and am getting into my normal condition;- constitutionally tired, but with a good deal of capacity
