Mrs. Allen had another attack of La Grippe after you left and has been suffering from it all summer. It took the form of nervous dyspepsia. She was confined to the house and unable to eat solid food for May weeks. We went to Cape May for a week, and although she was better while there, had a relapse on our return. She is now nearly recovered and much like her old self_ I have been as well as usual notwithstanding my hard summer_ The Commissioner took a trip to Europe for his health in Sept - and on his return broke
