Mr. Francis La Flesche,

My Friend, the shirts came in good time, and I thank you for them. They are just my fit. The old man has been here several times asking about you and Miss Fletcher. He was sick one time and when I saw him in his lodge he said, "tell them that I may die - my sacred bundle the sacred ^buffalo head they can have if they care to have it." I told him that he was not very sick and not to think of such a thing yet. He is now well. I will send you his picture soon. I am still in this bank and like it. Let me hear from you when ever [[strikethrough]] I [[/strikethrough]] ^you can find time to write me.
