I love so many people, and so much, and for so many reasons-there are those who satisfy my need to give- those whom I love for their heroic fight against madnesses we both despise, all sorts of love for all sorts of things- but you stand alone in my life as the one who has attained, as the one who [[underlined]] is [[/underlined]] serene and quiet and strong. And if you could know how thankful I am for you, how you bless and deepen every good impulse of my life, how my love for you is like a living spring within me, how it does mellow and soften me, does restrain quick judgments, and does deepen charity for all who err, and my desire to be large enough for my problems, you would, I am sure, be glad. I have spoken to you from a full heart, and in all sincerity- God bless you-
