Miss Alice C. Fletcher,

My Friend, Upon my arrival I found that a certain class of white people had passed a petition around for people to sign so that Congress would make a law to give Pawnees privilege of selling half of their lands. In one of the council Frank Leader was selected to go as a delegate and if I go I shall surely bring him around and tell Francis that if we should come I want him to receive him in Indian fashion so he (Leader) would feel at home with you. Make also arrangements for him to meet Dr. McGee and Maj- Powell- The Agent I understand is in favor of the Indians selling their lands and is oppose to the delegation going down there. If you can do anything for us I wish you could for it
