DANIEL COIT GILMAN,

Son of the late William Charles Gilman and Eliza Coit Gilman, died suddenly at the home of his sisters, in Norwich, Conn., on Tuesday afternoon, October 13, 1908.

He had come to Norwich with his wife on Monday for a brief visit before returning to his home in Baltimore, and appeared to be in improved health after six months of travel in Europe. He went to his room at two o'clock to prepare for a drive, and was followed five minutes later by his wife who found him prostrate and unconscious on the floor. He never rallied, and it is believed that his departure was in accordance with his often expressed desire, peaceful and painless.

The funeral service will be at Christ Church, Norwich, and the burial in the family plot in Yantic Cemetery, on Friday afternoon, October 16.
