Miss Alice C. Fletcher,
Cambridge, Mass.

Dear Madam :~

I trust that you will not think that I have taken too great liberties with your fine study of the "Haku," in the "Mystery of Life" which the Open Court Co. is just publishing for me (after a preliminary printing in the [[underlined]] [[Marist?]] [[/underlined]] & [[underlined]] Open Court [[/underlined]] ), and of which I have asked them to send you a copy. Your work seemed to me a veritable inspiration, esp. as reflecting the spirit of my own native prairies. — In an abridged form the pageant was presented at the Alabama Girls Technical Institute, at Montevallo, recently, where, I am informed, is thoroughly impressive.

Very sincerely yours,
