In almost every instance the land [[received?]] by the certificates has been allotted to the person holding the papers or to his immediate dependents or near relations.  The Indians have carefully treasured these certificates and the value placed upon them has been allowed to have its weight in all questions pertaining to the land.

Half of the contested cases then have been as to which be remanded formal trial, and the hearing of evidence occupied in each case, from one to three days. Some disputes are now settled which had given trouble for the past 5 or 6 years.
