his wife Margaret and their three children, William [[?17]] years, John 11 years and Artemesia (now Mrs. Frost 10 years of age.  Mr. Sloan remained at the mill in the government employ for near three years.  This period constitutes the only evidence of Mrs. Sloan upon the Omaha Reservation up to 1881, where she returned here with her grandson Thomas Sloan the only child of her deceased son William, who entered upon land and has made considerable improvements on his claims.

Mrs. Sloan claims right to allotment under the Act of August 1882, as she states that her husband Thomas Sloan went into the army after he left the mill on the Omaha Reservation and was in the army in the year 1865 and that as he entered the army from this place his residence was the Omaha Reservation and her constructive residence was that of her husband.
