a part of the tribe seem not to have completely understood the transactions. The examination of the accounts and the explanations made by the inspector so fully satisfied them as to the past that they desired the inspector to assist them in making similar arrangements for the coming year,which was done.

The inspector further says that while to many of the tribe the duties of citizenship came prematurely, a large number were worthy of and ready for it and he is of opinion that in the future the Omahas will do much better than in the past and that the time is not far distant when they will become good citizens.
