   Sir:

      Your communication of August 19, 1887. marked "Lu"received today.  Together with the  plats enumeratest[[?]]Itrnoirs.[[?]]

       The plats do not cover the entire reservation as they do not  contain the land purchase for the Winnebagos of Misenesise.[[?]]It will be necessary to hand  plats of that portion of the reservation in order to forsee exits[[?]] thework.
   May I ask that Sufficient cloth be sent to back these plats.  They number 17 and are 20 1/4 by 16 1/2 inches.  I fear they will be Entirely destroyed during the work of allotting if they are not mounted in cloth.  I erise[[?]] attend to this mounting here.
   The Omaha plats, are even[[?]] mounted and are being destroyed.  They are very valuable having
