Winnebago
Nebraska. Oct. 17 7

Hon. Commissioner of Indian Affairs:

Sir:

I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your communications of October 10, marked "L.26385-1887" requesting me to collect all patents belonging to the Wisconsin Winnebagos which are to be found here, and such evidence as will lead to the discovery of the remainder of these patents and transmit a schedule of the same.

In reply I would state, that the lateness of the season seems to demand that the present favorable weather should be occupied with necessary field work, in allotting, and that may occasion a delay in preparing the schedule, but I will attend to it and send it on as soon as possible.

Respectfully
