Mr Lee Morehouse

Dear Sir:
The horses and wagon reached here safely on Saturday the 22d instant. The intense heat of Friday told upon the driver somewhat; but he is better now.

I thank you for your courtesy in this matter and regret to learn that you have so much illness in your family and among your employees. I trust they may soon recover as the hot season adds much to the suffering of fever patients. It is intensely hot here and vegetation is dried up to the loss of the farmers, both Indian and white settlers.

Yours respectfully
