Mr. J. T. Silverwood

Sir:

The Department has ruled that a child whose Indian mother is dead & whose father is white is to be treated as an orphan. Therefore your little daughter Edna Silverwood is entitled to 80 acres of land. I write at once that you may send me word by the next mail how you will take her land. You have the map of the township and know how you placed her and Robt. Lee White who is also entitled to 80 acres, and you can arrange the land from the map & send me word. perhaps you had better make me a drawing of the land, so this will be no mistake. Jane Swann is entitled to 80 acres. I would like Mr Penny to select her extra 80 acres and send me word. I wish to mark off this land on my plats without delay.
