concerning you & your troubles.  Time has made her see things differently, for which I am glad for her sake.  I've not gone 
much into matters, but I can discern that there was a great deal
of false statement, that was poured into her ears.

How I do hope you will be able to get some evidence that will enable you to get free from the great trouble.

If I do not go to Italy, I shall return home in December.  I have made arrangements to pay for my board while here.  I could not accept so much from either Dr. Sturge or from Miss Gay.  I
insisted on this arrangement as I am likely to be here some time
at least make this my headquarters.  In my last letter written
on the 13th, I enclosed the check for $60.00.  I hope it will 
reach you safely.  If I do not go to Italy, I may not risk sending you more checks but will wait until I return & then deposit all that is coming, it seems a little risky to send them
